    Programs Summer Schools Activities All Programs Summer Program on Armenian Culture for UWC Students Partner United World Colleges UWC Dates May 1 2009 August 31 2009 Students Feedbacks The NGO SECND organized a Summer Program on Armenian Culture for UWC students which was held in Armenia from 1 15 June 2009 United World Colleges UWC is an organization with 12 colleges located on 5 continents Each year UWC offers more than one thousand scholarships to students from more than 130 countries These scholarships make it possible for students aged 16 to 18 to attend the last two years of secondary education regardless of their ability to pay UWC is the only global educational movement that brings together students from all over the world with the explicit aim of fostering peace and international understanding This year students from the colleges in Italy and Great Britain visited Armenia During their stay they got acquainted with different cities of Armenia and with the Armenian historical architectural monuments The students visited a number of museums in the framework of the Museum Education program They also took part in the social programs carried out in Armenia helped to paint the fence of the College after

    19 participants from different universities of Armenia and 4 participants from foreign universities Bulgaria Russia Serbia and Ukraine see the list of participants Foreign participants were chosen as the result of competition The announcements were sent to different foreign organizations and higher educational institutions including the institutes in CIS and Eastern Europe which had sent their participants to the previous Summer Schools in 2004 and 2006 Two lecturers were invited Dr Algirdas Valiulis from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and Dr Gyorgy Bazsa from University of Debrecen Hungary The Reader including materials sent by the lecturers of the Summer School was completed and given to the participants for preparing for the Summer School Here You can find the electronic version of the materials of the Reader Summer School was held at the YSU in the Conference Hall after Rita and Vartges Paleyan which is equipped for simultaneous translation Representatives from OSI Armenia the National Academy of Science of Armenia Ministries Universities international and social organizations were invited to take part in the opening ceremony of the Summer School The President of the Scientific and Educational Center of National Development non governmental organization Gayane Ghukasyan opened the ceremony Then Alexander Grigoryan the vice rector of the YSU Armen Trchunyan the president of the Supreme Attestation Committee David Amiryan deputy director of OSI AF Armenia and Professor Algirdas Valiulis from Lithuania greeted the participants Nataliia Medzhibovska the representative of the Odessa State Economic University who was participating in the Summer School for the second time made a greeting speech on behalf of the participants During the Summer School the main lectures were delivered by Algirdas Valiulis from Lithuania 22 academic hours Gyorgy Bazsa from Hungary 22 academic hours and one lecture by Armen Budaghyan from Armenia During the program educational visits to Matenadaran

    Process was implemented from March 1 to July 30 2006 The purpose of the two week training course was to raise the professional skills of university administrators in the field of education administration and to promote the educational reforms in Armenia There were 21 participants from Yerevan state and non state licensed Universities 4 from the State Universities of the Armenian regions and 5 from foreign countries Georgia Russia and Ukraine see the list of participants The main lectures were delivered by professor Andrejs Rauhvargers President of the Lisbon Recognition Convention Committee Bureau Member of Council of Europe Higher Education and Research Committee Bologna Follow up Group Member Chair of the Bologna Stocktaking Working Group 2005 2007 and professor Tatjana Koke Corresponding Member of Latvian Academy of Sciences Executive Director Education for All National Forum UNESCO professor at the Faculty of Education and Psychology University of Latvia Minister of Education and Sciences of the Republic of Latvia The state of Bologna Process in Armenia was presented by Aleksandr Grigoryan Vice rector on Education Activities of YSU and Armen Budaghyan Deputy Vice rector of SEUA for Graduate Studies Before the beginning of the courses the participants were given the Reader composed of the materials sent by the lecturers The opening ceremony of the Summer School was held in YSU in the Conference Hall after Rita and Vartges Paleyan on July 3 2006 Representatives from OSI Armenia the National Assembly of RA the National Academy of Science of Armenia Ministries Universities international and social organizations were invited to take part in the opening ceremony of the Summer School Gayane Ghukasyan the President of the Scientific and Educational Center for National Development a non governmental organization opened the ceremony Aram Simonyan the Rector of the YSU Levon Mkrtchyan the Minister of Education and
