    fellows and leading native and foreign specialists in the field of study by the coordination of the Institute minutely analyze the developments in the regional states from the perspective of the RA national security interests the foreign and internal policies of those states their possible impact on the RA security interests the policy of power centers run in the South Caucasus In 2009 the research component of the Institute was upgraded with the PhD program as well as with the Republic of Armenia s Supreme Certifying Commission 056 Specialized Council awarding the degrees for the candidate and the doctor for the specialization in Political Science and International Relations In 2013 the Strategic Gaming Group and the Cybersecurity Group were founded within the Analytical Center of the Institute The Strategic Gaming Group deals with the research in the methodology and theory of strategic games the toolset of scenario planning SWOT Analysis and other academic and analytical methods and with strategic planning via their application The Cybersecurity Group by conducting research in the developments of the sphere of information communication technologies and cybersecurity dynamics evaluates the relevance of their applicability within the context of the RA national security policy and makes appropriate recommendations Simultaneously the Cybersecurity Group s activity is aimed at shaping the relevant field and conducting science applicable discussions by bridging the representatives and experts of IT public sector and private enterprises potential The Cybersecurity Group staff participates in the educational programs conferences workshops round tables and preparation of academic publications in the Institute The Institute for National Security Studies publishes the Strategic Security Studies series in 2014 four volumes were issued with a focus on the development of the security studies shaping the system of guidelines for the defense security development cultivation of the best examples of security policy and strategic decision making culture in the RA The series is important also for the education programs in the field of security studies by enabling the faculty and students to gain systemic profound knowledge of the security dynamics in the South Caucasus Among other facilities the INSS is furnished with an electronic library which has established professional ties with the libraries of several advanced centers both inside the country and beyond During the last few years the INSS has established partnership with a number of academic and educational institutions abroad namely with the Harvard University Black Sea Security Program the US National Defense University American Foreign Policy Council Brown University Oxford University Chatham House Jean Moulin University Lyon Moscow State Institute of International Relations MGIMO Russian Institute for Strategic Studies Institute of World Economy and International Relations NAS RF Russian Political Science Association RPSA Collective Security Treaty Organization Institute Academic Expert Council of the CSTO the Hebrew University of Jerusalem the Institute on Eastern Europe and CIS Israel Centre for East European and Asian Studies Bucharest Kadir Has University Istanbul In close cooperation with the above mentioned think tanks in 2008 2009 2011 2015 the INSS has organized strategic policy
